Pity about the wet central character! - Adele Parks is a superb author of contemporary women s fiction and her latest book, Tell Me Something, tells the story of Elizabeth whose desparate need to have a baby with her Italian husband Roberto over-rides every other aspect of her life. Parks prose, as ever is punchy and excellent and the novel zips along well, but I must confess that I got rather annoyed with Elizabeth s self-centred approach to life and it made her rather shallow as a result. On the plus side, the descriptions of Italy are fantastic and the character of Elizabeth s fearsome mother-in-law are well-crafted. Actually, apart from Elizabeth, all of the other characters are fairly believable and have the requisite amount of personality to appear believable. There are a few twists and turns towards the end of the book to maintain interest and overall it s a good read, but not one of Parks best works I m afraid.

i loved this book - i just couldnt put this book down. Such an easy to read book the ideal book for chilling out perfect chic lit

The first I have read by this author but won t be the last! - I loved nearly everything about this book. There are some parts I can really identify with, especially the evil mother in law, hell bent on splitting up her marriage. I know exactly how that feels...I did find the baby obsession slightly grating at times though. Other than that overall a brilliant book which I would highly recommend. I have just bought all her previous books. More please Adele!

Bit disappointing - Having read many other books by Adele Parks I was looking forward to this one but came away a bit disappointed. I found the main character Elizabeth really irritating and completely implausible and the sequence of events unbelievable to say the least. Having said that, I did finish it and found it amusing in parts - just not up to her usual high standard.

Another fab summer read! - I ve read all of Adele Parks books, and thoroughly enjoyed them all. This book has a different pace to the other books, but again, I couldn t put it down! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who fancies a good summer holiday read.
